Best
Hospitals Honor Roll
Every
year, U.S. News recognizes hospitals that perform at a
very high level across many specialties by listing them in the
Honor Roll. To be included, a hospital must demonstrate
unusual competence in at least six of 16 specialties. Only 13
hospitals made this elite list this year out of 188 different
facilities that were ranked.
1. Johns
Hopkins Hospital
Baltimore
(28 POINTS IN
14 SPECIALTIES)
2. Mayo
Clinic
Rochester,
Minn.
(24 POINTS IN
12 SPECIALTIES)
4. Cleveland
Clinic
(21
POINTS IN 11 SPECIALTIES)
7. Barnes-Jewish
Hospital
St.
Louis
(15 POINTS IN
10 SPECIALTIES)
1. Pediatric – Boston

Note: Listed hospitals scored two or more standard deviations
(S.D.) above the mean on the U.S. News Index in at least six
of 16 specialties. Order is based on total points. A hospital
got two points if it ranked 3 or more S.D. above the mean and
1 point if it ranked from 2 to under 3 S.D. above the mean. In
ties, the number of specialties determined the order.
